Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel Honors Architect Jeanne Gang and Chicago's Artistic Heritage
Chicago architecture is legendary and the new Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, Chicago is carrying on the city's tradition by celebrating Jeanne Gang, principal and founder of Studio Gang Architects, who designed the Aqua Tower in which the hotel resides. Design enthusiasts will enjoy the hotel's details, including floor-to-ceiling wallpaper murals of the Chicago skyline on each floor, drawn by local artist Steve Slaske. The building features reclaimed Chicago brick walls and steel staircases in homage to the city’s industrial history, as well as a permanent art gallery featuring Chicago artists.
Hiltons of Chicago Invite Guests to Choose Their Chillcation This Winter
Whether you like to venture outdoors or stay inside during your winter vacation, the Hilton hotels in Chicago are offering guests at the Windy City's Hilton locations the chance to pick and choose their favorite winter activities. With Chillcation, accommodations and amenities are optimized with options to either “Chill In” or “Chill Out,” giving guests the choice to relax and enjoy amenities within the hotel property, or head out and experience the wonders of Chicago’s robust roster of wintertime activities. Each participating hotel will offer its own version of the Just Chillin’ package. The Chillcation Park & Stay Package will be featured at each of the nine hotels as well. At each participating property, additional Chillcation packages and offerings will be available.
The James Chicago's New Cup O' Jove Warms Up the Holidays in the Windy City
The Holiday on the Avenue promotion by The James Chicago hotel provides guests the opportunity to experience luxury shopping on Chicago’s heralded Magnificent Mile during their stay at the hotel. Best available rates on all guestrooms and suites are available through December 30, 2012. The deluxe hotel also features a temporary pop-up shop, Cup o’ Jove, where guests and others can drop in and partake in the specially prepared treats prepared by the hotel restaurant’s pastry chef, Jove Hubbard. Jove’s delectable creations include hot milk chocolate with pumpkin, spiced marshmallows and Ceylon cinnamon caramel, and mocha hot chocolate with Bailey’s whipped cream and chocolate-covered espresso beans. Cup o’ Jove will be located at the entrance of the hotel’s J Bar. It will be open from November 23 through December 21.
JW Marriott Chicago Now Offers In-Room Tasting Experiences
The JW Marriott Chicago has introduced a new way for guests to enjoy the food-forward city, with in-room dining experiences that bring gourmet snacks to the guestroom. Various selections of seasonal ingredients are available. Past selections by Executive Chef Michael Reich have included Pan-seared Day Boat Scallops with tomato fennel broth, Slow Braised Niman Ranch Beef Short Rib with parsnip purée and fresh walnuts with arugula salad. The sweeter side features included a Fresh Meyer Lemon Curd with blueberry conserva, Bourbon Vanilla Panna Cotta, Dark Chocolate and Orange Biscotti and luscious French Macaroons. Wine and beer pairings are also options on the extensive snack menu. “We know that our guests appreciate good food and good wine,” says Director of Restaurants Olivier Lau. “We wanted to offer options that were tailored tasting experiences, with which guests could expand their food and beverage knowledge from the comforts of their guestroom.”
